In March 2000, Diet Rite became the first national diet soft drink in America to be sweetened with SPLENDA® Brand sweetener, allowing Diet Rite to continue offering delicious zero calorie sodas with zero compromise on taste.
Diet Rite, along with its sister brands in the RC Cola portfolio, was acquired in October 2000 by Cadbury Schweppes plc of London. Today, Diet Rite continues under the ownership of Plano, Texas-based Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages, the largest subsidiary of Cadbury Schweppes plc.
After 40 years, we’re still doing it differently from other sodas by offering zero compromise taste in a zero calorie soft drink. And now we have a refreshing new look that reflects the great taste and variety of flavors you can always expect from Diet Rite. Look for our Pure Zero packaging to hit stores August 2005.
